Ciara Caldwell (2000) is a visual artist who was born in Northern Ireland and recently graduated her Masters of Fine Art at Ulster University (2025).
Her recent body of work 'Tá mé ag snámh caillte', explores themes of connection to loss, memory and the concept of home, through work that is grounded in an exploration of the Irish landscape, language, and the complex relationship between cultural inheritance and personal identity.
Drawing upon natural materials, photography, and bilingual poetic text, her recent installation reflects on the Irish diaspora, memory, and the quiet resilience of land and language in the face of historical rupture.
Caldwell continues to develop her practice through ongoing experimentation and reflection, with an interest in creating work that invites viewers and readers into a considered, intimate engagement.
Through funding from the arts council of Northern Ireland, in 2026 Caldwell embarks on a years long travelling expedition, to engage in workshops in Japan and further afield.
Focusing on photography and literature as primary mediums to explore the Irish diaspora and the concept of ‘home’.
